It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dennis James Kern (San Francisco, California), born in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Kate; his son Lucas of San Francisco, CA; and his son-in-law Julian, Sr. (Brooke Robertson Kern). He is also survived by his two children, daughter-in-law, and three grandsons.

He was very proud of all the hard work that his staff did every day, but especially during the Covid-19 response period.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Denny's name to the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department he so dearly loved.
