Susan Rene (Killian) McGoldrick Obituary
Susan McGoldrick, a devoted mother, compassionate nurse, and faithful Christian, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2024. Though not always easy, her life was marked by resilience, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and community.
As a single mother of four, Susan faced numerous challenges but always strived to provide for her children and instill values that would serve them well throughout their lives. Her determination to improve her circumstances led her to return to school at age 35. In 1994, she proudly graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, a testament to her perseverance and dedication to creating a better life for her family.
Throughout her nursing career, Susan continued to educate herself, taking advantage of opportunities provided by the hospitals where she worked. Her true passion, however, lay in caring for seniors, where she found great fulfillment in ensuring their comfort and dignity in their later years.
In retirement, Susan discovered joy in arts and crafts, particularly diamond painting. She would spend hours each day meticulously placing tiny crystals to create beautiful works of art. The love and effort she poured into her craft were evident, and she delighted in sharing her creations with others.
Susan's faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted Christian, she found solace and strength in reading the scriptures daily. Attending church was more than a routine; it nourished her soul and provided comfort during difficult times.
Susan is survived by her four children, Michelle, Shauna, Michael, and Damian, eight grandchildren, and a community of friends who will deeply miss her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit. Her love, faith, and perseverance legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Susan's life will be held on November 7, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at the Bravo Family Mortuary in San Diego. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Susan McGoldricks GoFundMe for funeral expenses.
May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of her Savior and the memories of those she touched.
