He is survived by: his children, Mai Hoa Thi Tran (Dung Viet Nguyen), Huu Nghia Nguyen (Tuyet Nga), Nam Van Lu, Phuong Thi Lu (Binh Luu Quy), Dao Lu (Tien Van Tran) and Amy Lu (Phong Ngoc Phan). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
