He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Williams and George Platter; his stepfather Tom Shafnisky; and his siblings, George 'Sonny Platter and Linda Hadler.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Marie of Guatay, CA; his daughters, Shawn Shuman of Atlanta, Georgia, Theresa Moore (Todd) of Jamul, CA and Tamara Larson (Tim) of Ramona, CA; his stepsons, Ben Montgomery (Amanda) of Pine Valley, CA and Justin Montgomery (Mimi) of El Cajon, CA; and his sisters-in-law, Sandi Platter of St. Cloud, FL and Vicky Jones (Daniel) of Descanso, CA.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
