He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Bailey Smith Sr. of Nebraska and Rosita Flamiano. He is survived by: his wife Salvacion Smith; his children, Ronald Smith, Sandy Fowler (John), Gerard Smith (Kristi Vineyard-Smith) and Sharoan Smith (Darren Gonzales); his grandchildren, Nicki Kempton (Matt), Brandon Smith and Alexandra Ainslie (Bryce); his great grandchildren, Layla Felix, Kaedon Smith and Kyra Smith; his children, Ana, Lui, Eleanor and Carolina; his grandchildren, John Maurice (Ash), Jordan Goodnature (Nathan), Harper Smith-Anderson (Nathan), Reed Smith, Justin Ortega (Gabrielle), Tori (Erick Barnachia) and Noah Gonzales (Bella); and his great grandchild Samuel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Rita Catholic Church (5124 Churchward St, San Diego, CA 92114). The military honors will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at the Miramar National Cemetery (3838 Bonita Rd, Bonita, CA 91902).
