He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Edward Boykin, Sr. and Jimmie Norton Boykin; his brother Marshall Edward Boykin Jr.; and his sister-in-law Leslie Wood Boykin. He is survived by: his wife Jeannette Waters Boykin of Weslaco, Texas.; his children, Belinda Boykin Oelman and Jeffrey Newell Boykin; and his grandsons, Palmer Hutcheson Oelman, James Marshall Oelman, Robert Coolidge Oelman and Henry Newell Boykin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
