He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Davis and Martha Bedford Davis; his daughter Ava Johnson; and his siblings, Geanie Mae Edmonson, Rosetta Bedford, Sally Ann Davis, John D. Davis, Douglas Davis, Ashes Davis and Ray Davis.
He is survived by: his nephew Billy Moreland II; his wife Lela V. Davis of Chula Vista; his nieces, Marilyn Jackson (Al) of Dallas, Texas and Debra McCorvey (Willie); his nephew Larry Manor (Verna); his siblings-in-law, Elmarie Moreland and Billy Moreland Sr.; and his nieces and nephews, Ingrid Johnson (Gerald) of San Diego, California, Elaine Watson, Janice Thompson, Leon and Willie Edward Watson of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by children, but he was a devoted father.
