She was predeceased by: her parents, Gladys Pete and Gorman Pete; her husband Carl Melton McKinnon (Yurok); her stepfather John Sargent; her son Carl Wayne McKinnon (Butch); her grandson Scott Murdock McKinnon; and her siblings, Thelma, Ethel and Donald.

She is survived by: her son Dennis McKinnon (Janet Phillips); her grandchildren, Marc McKinnon, Kristine Kaschube (Chris McCurtain) and Carol McKinnon (Will Meyer); and her great grandchildren, Mason, Cameron and Alexandria.
