He was predeceased by: his parents, Mariano Balestrieri and Antonina Balestrieri; and his sisters, Antoinette Giacalone and Lucille Maniscalco. He is survived by: his son Don; his brother Mario Balestrieri; his nephews, Michael Maniscalco (Heidi), Jon Maniscalco (Marlene), Joseph Maniscalco (Stephanie) and Dominic Maniscalco (Alicia); and his niece Tina Smith (Brandon). He is also survived by many cousins and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Don's memory.
