He was predeceased by: his mother Ethel L. Pittman; his wife Ritsuko Pittman; and his father Arthur Sr. Pittman. He is survived by: his daughter Yukie Pittman (San Diego); his grandson Darris Cooper (Texas); his brothers, Eugene Pittman (Inglewood) and Charles Pittman; his sister-in-law Irma Gean; his nephew Derek Christopher; his siblings, Katie Harmon (Pasadena), Essie Reynolds, Lillie Potts of Montgomery, Alabama. and Arthur Jr. Willie James; his sister-in-law Brenda Pittman (Pasadena) of Los Angeles; his close friend Emmett Walker (Ada Walker); and his caregiver Mary Smith-Serpa.

Many of his new paintings and art supplies will be donated to schools and art programs for children.
