He was predeceased by: his father Donald F. Stanfel; his brother Donald R. Stanfel; his father-in-law Kenneth Scott; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Zak and Thomas Scott.
He is survived by: his wife Cecilia Scott-Stanfel of Coronado, CA; his daughter Elizabeth Stanfel of Detroit, MI; his mother Mary Margaret "Peg" Stanfel of Joliet, IL; his sisters, Patricia, Kathy and Margie of Joliet; his mother-in-law Agnes Scott; his sisters-in-law, Theresa Zak of Crest Hill, IL and Mary Frances Matichak (Stephen) of Madison, GA; his nieces, Ashley Carter (Mike), Nicole Marzano (Anthony), Gina Brooks-Zak (Liz) and Alexandra Scott; his great-nephews, Jackson, Brody Carter and Atticus Brooks-Zak; his great-niece Nora Marzano; his aunts and uncles, Betty and Erven VanDeventer; his friend David Vidano of Joliet; and his sister Grace Henneberry. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
