He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Hopkins and Hattie Hopkins; his siblings, John Hopkins and Frances Brewer; his stepmother Joyce; his brother Clayton; and his nephew Steven Hopkins.
He is survived by: his sister Sharon Silva; his wife Julia Hopkins; his children, Cecilee Nanini (Hopkins), Mark Hopkins (Amina), Julie Chase (Hopkins), Patricia Sepe (Mark) and David Hopkins (Karen); and his grandchildren, Joseph Cavazos, R. J. Nanini, Alissa Nanini Vargas, Christine Chase, Kyle, Ryan Sepe, Mathis Hopkins and Aliana Hopkins. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
