Andre Tyreese Leggett Obituary
Andre Tyrese Leggett began his glow May 4, 1989, with his gleam fading June 5, 2024, at the age of 35.
Andre began his education at Baker Elementary and finished at Sojourner Truth Elementary. He moved on to O'Farrell Middle School. His formal education ended at Kearny High School. He was working toward his GED when his gleam faded.
Andre was baptized twice, initially at New Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church as a child and subsequently at United Missionary Baptist Church as a young man.
Andre was a very loving son, father, brother and uncle with a kind and gentle soul. Someone who had sincere concern and deep care for people. He was, in fact, a bona fide hero who appeared on the news and in newspapers when he helped rescue an elderly couple from a burning vehicle.
Andre had the best smile which he exposed to the world every day. He loved an occasion to dress up, which is evident by the number of proms he attended. A necktie was his favorite finish to his outfits. Though he was dyslexic, he was an avid reader and loved a good conversation. Andre was a social butterfly who was liked by all he came to know. He also enjoyed watching cartoons well into adulthood.
He leaves behind to keep his name and spirit alive his mother, Edna Leggett. Children, Navaeh Leggett, Jaselle Leggett, Aniya Leggett, and Nia Leggett all of California. Sisters, Syletta Crisp, Nikia Wheaton, and Amber Leggett. Brothers, Eric Goodson and Marquest Leggett-Glover. Nephews, Jeremiah Scott, Anthony Dawson, Davion Thompson, and Noah Fountain. His birth mother Helen Leggett. Aunts, Zattie Hawkins, Jeanette Watkins, Queen Woods, Janie Leggett, Donnie McMillan, and Carol Merchant, and a host of cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents, James and Johnnie Leggett.
