It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kevin Gildea Kelly of San Carlos, California, who passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Kevin Gildea may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Kevin Gildea touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. He was predeceased by: his parents, Judge Joseph P. Kelly and Elizabeth M. Kelly; and his brother Stephen M. Kelly. He is survived by: his daughters, Alison Blake Kelly and Erin Elizabeth Kelly; and his grandson James Kelly Burgess.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bellarmine College Preparatory and Holy Cross College.

“Kevin was not only my college roommate at Holy Cross our Junior and Senior years, Kev was my best and lifelong friend. I admired and loved Kevin. He was elected, virtually unanimously, as the Best Man in the College in a student election, never held before or since, but held to honor him frankly. And he deserved it. Funny, smart, light-hearted, Kev stood up for me at my wedding, and I did for him at his. We stayed best friends ever since. I am saddened but warmed by his memory. Tom Jacobs”
