He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alfred Geipel and Else Geipel; his wife Isolde Wurster; and his children, Alfred Geipel of Sunnyvale, Elisabeth Smith of Redwood City, Dorothea Lopuck of San Mateo and Susanne Delagnes of Menlo Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Rudi's honor.
