He was predeceased by: his parents, William Frederick Gers and Margaret Brown; his daughter Diane Elizabeth Gers; and his brother William Ralph Gers. He is survived by: his wife Mary Dorothy LaFargue; his children, Terence (Marilyn) of Yucaipa, Irvin (Helen) of Crawfordsville, IN, Roger (Teresa) of San Bernardino, Keith (Kari) of San Bernardino and Sandra of Highland; his grandchildren, Dorothy, Tracey, Lindsey, Katie, Misty, Jennifer, Sal, Phillip, Mallory and John; and his brother Irvin Clayton Gers of Mechanicsburg, PA.. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild plus many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bobbitt Memorial Chapel (1299 E Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM at the Riverside National Cemetery (22495 Van Buren Boulevard, March Air Reserve Base, CA 92518).
