With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Diana Gray Monte of San Anselmo, California, who passed away on June 23, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Gray and Margaret Gray; her husband Charlie; her children, Brian Flahive (Mary), Steve Flahive, Matthew Monte (Stephanie) and Christina Pardi (Jamie); her grandchildren, Jack Flahive, Cameron, Ella Flahive, Charlie, Mari Pardi and Miles Monte; and her brother Bob Gray (Jane). She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In Dee Dee's memory, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to: Hospice By the Bay, 17 East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, Larkspur, CA 94939.

“DeeDee's mom was my dad's older sister. So we are cousins. Cousins who have not seen each other for more than a half century until a few months ago. I was so glad she and Charlie came to Rock Hill, SC to see her daughter and her family. It gave me the opportunity to visit and even go to lunch together. She was that gorgeous cousin that lit up the room when we were younger. I know her family will miss her. You all are in my prayers.”

“Dear Monte Family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Dee Dee was always so kind to us neighborhood kids. She stocked the kitchen with snacks and let us gather to swim the day away. The Dutch Valley/Sleepy Hollow crew was lucky to be loved by so many moms. It takes a village to keep us all together and flourishing, and I am happy to have known her. Much love to you all. Losing mom is the toughest loss most of us have. It takes time. Trust your selves and and be kind to your selves, too”
