With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joan Hacken Sainsbury (Sacramento, California), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nephi "Cap" Hacken and Leola Jones Hacken. She is survived by: her significant other Dan Sainsbury; her children, Heather Carter, Nathan Carter (Darcy), Alisha Pew, Monique Carter, Megan Headley (Kevin), Brittany Page (Bradley), John Sainsbury (Irma), Chris Sainsbury (Kim) and Deanna Sainsbury; her siblings, Carolyn Hacken Dean and Robert Hacken; her stepson Kevin M. Sainsbury; and her daughter Amber June Carter. She is also survived by her eleven granddaughters and three grandsons, and four step grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (2745 Eastern Ave, Sacramento, CA 95821).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Joan's name to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint's Humanitarian Fund.
