It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Appleby Mitchell (Sacramento, California), who passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. As David Appleby departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though David Appleby may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy David Appleby leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph David Mitchell Jr. and Mildred Appleby Mitchell; his wife Pauline Mitchell; and his siblings, Virginia "Ebie" Matula, Joseph "J. D." Mitchell III, George Mitchell and James Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, David Mitchell, Jr. (Kaye) of Antelope, California, Robert Mitchell (Cheryl) of East Taunton, Massachusetts and Lorie Garlick (Tom Dyer) of Sacramento, California; his granddaughters, Ashley Hammons (Matt) of Martinez and Nicole Mitchell of East Taunton, Massachusetts; and his brother John Tate Mitchell of Cane Hill, Arkansas..
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 8:30 AM at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA 95620).
