With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Valerie Jean Abbott in Roseville, California, born in Palo Alto, California, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 15, 2025 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her parents, Justin Smith and Lavada Smith; her sister Janet Perry; and her stepgrandsons, Adam and David Garrett.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph James Abbott; her grandchildren, Kimberly and George Papageorge (Olivia); her children, Timothy O'Neal (Parker), Tiffany, Christian Carvacho (Mason), Laura, Michael Schultz (Jordan), Mark and Jenny Abbott; her former husband Charles Lee O'Neal; and her daughter Kimberly.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA 95620). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Christ Community Church (5025 Manzanita Ave, Carmichael, CA 95608).
The family kindly requests donations be made in Valerie's name to Convoy of Hope, a faith-based organization that serves people all over the world who are impoverished, hungry, and hurting.
