He was predeceased by: his parents, Meryl Lois Carpenter Watkins and Thomas Eli Watkins; his sisters, Neoma Ramsey and Carmel Matranga; his stepmother Evelyn Watkins; his stepbrother Wilbur Hicks; and his nieces, Sharon Matranga and Carol Ann Perez.
He is survived by: his spouse Armida Maffei; his children, Melanie Brackman (Grady) and Jim Watkins (Michelle); his stepbrother Donnie Hicks; and his grandchildren, Alex, Zachary, Natalie, Matthew and Logan.
