She was predeceased by: her son Nicholas Bates; and her sister Sharon Waters. She is survived by: her husband Richard Bates; her children, Tim Bates, Rick Bates (Karen) and Rebecca Nelson (Mark); her grandchildren, Jordan Bates, Emily Bates, Eva Bates and Bianca Nelson; and her siblings, Frank Girard, John Girard, Susan Lorenzen and Shirley Sutliff. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
