He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Herter and Edith Cline Herter; his siblings, Fred Herter (Gale) of North Carolina, Nancy Apmann and Alice Herter; his siblings-in-law, Yvonne (Tim McLoughlin) of Portland and Lem Briggs of North Carolina; and his nieces and nephews, Shelly Briggs Harris (Jody), Christy Canter (Dennis), Vicki Carol Herter, William "Butch" Herter (Beth), John Herter (Carol) and Amanda Dollar (Eric). He was also cherished by many loving nieces and nephews.
