He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Lara and Mickey Lara; his brothers, John and Steven Lara; and his daughter Ilene Villanueva.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Eileen Lara; his children, Angela Lara, Adam Lara, Andrew Lara, Rudy Lara, Dimitri Lara and Crystal Lara; and his siblings, Louise Bonner, Liz Hale and Mark Lara. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Arlington Mortuary (9645 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92503).
