She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Adam Buma and Jennie Buma; her husband Charles Smits; her children, Ron (Karin), Carol (Hans), Robert (Rita), Allan (Diane) and Rick (Marianne); and her sister Clara Sonke. She was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.
