He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Prewitt and Floyd Prewitt; and his brother Bill. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Van Dine; his children, David (Wendy), Autumn Winters (Hank) and Bonnie Holmes (Rick); and his sister Joyce Prewitt. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
