With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Josie Vander Plaats of Ripon, California, born in Sanborn, Iowa, who passed away on January 5, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jim; her parents, George Kramer and Jennie Kramer; her siblings, Jacoba Kramer, Sylvia Hannink, Tena Kramer and John Kramer; and her great grandchild Luke Barnes.
She is survived by: her siblings, Alice Kootstra, Henrietta Vis, Jake Kramer and Ted Kramer (Theresa); her children, Janice Thompson (Gene), Dennis Vander Plaats (Judy), Gene Vander Plaats (Debbie), Glenn Vander Plaats and Betty Blake; and her grandchildren, Lisa Beedle (Eric), Debra Vargas (Ralph), Eric Vander Plaats (Rosel), Lori Barnes (John), Kara Brown (Luke), Beth Vander Plaats, Daniel Vander Plaats (Michelle), Jamie Madero (Gabe) and John Vander Plaats (Melanie). She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
