Janine Laurine (Hutton) Graham Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Janine Laurine Graham. She passed away, with family by her side at her home in Rio Linda, California on July 18, 2021. Janine was 77 years old. Her loss is a deep and impactful one to so many and a true heartbreak to her family. There is great solace in knowing her heart is no longer broken and she is free from the pain and suffering she’s endured since her husband’s passing. Her grandson, Beau said the perfect, most comforting words, “ Grandma is so happy now, how can I be sad?”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Wilma Hutton, sister, Beverly Buberl, husband, Robert Graham, son, Michael Riddles and granddaughter, Jennie Cooley.
She is survived by her two daughters, Michele Graham and Keri Thomas, Son in law, Carlos Hernandez, daughter in law Loretta Riddles, Sister in Law Sally Summers, 6 grandchildren (Tiffany, Krystina, Beau, Brittany, Baylee and Brendan) and 12 great grandchildren (Dylan, Roxanne, Hunter, Macie, Emily, Ella, Liberty, Xavion, Zamaiya, Malaiya, Franklin and coming soon, Lucas).
She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends, all of which she loved dearly.
Janine lived an incredible and fulfilled life. She will be remembered as being a sweet, optimistic, intelligent, loving, resilient, beautiful woman with a big heart, who always put everyone’s wants and needs before her own.
Janine was born September 21, 1943 in Toole, Utah to parents Harold and Wilma Hutton. She was the youngest of two daughters. Growing up and being the baby of the family, Janine, herself said she was a “brat.” For example, She knew her mom was deaf in her left ear, so she would purposely tell her mom things on her left side, KNOWING her mom wouldn’t hear her. Later Janine would tell her mom, “I did tell you mom, you probably weren’t listening to me.”
Janine spent her preteen and teenage years in Herlong, California. This was home to Janine because this is where her most treasured memories and lifelong friendships began 60 years ago. Tonya, Leroy, Norma, Norman, Lenore, Marilyn, Sharon, Denise, LeEurma, Robin, Jeanette, and Judy are the true definition of the word “Friend”. (Can you imagine being the best of friends for over 60 years?)
During her Senior year, she moved to Citrus Heights, CA, where she graduated from San Juan High School. After graduation Janine began her career at the California Highway Patrol as a key data operator. She then worked for several years as a key data operator for Nor Cal Beverage. Janine ended her career when she retired as a Disability Analyst with the State of California.
First and foremost, Janine’s family was the most important part of her life. She was a loving, devoted wife, exceptional mother, grand mother and great grandmother. She treasured her family and embraced every moment she spent with them.
Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses:, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ
