He was predeceased by: his wife Judith Lynn Lavender (Delaney); his son Stephen Wayne Lavender; his parents, Milo Fulsome Lavender and Bernice Marie Carter (Bennie); and his brother James Warren Lavender.

He is survived by: his sons, Michael Bernard Tober of Ridgecrest, CA and Dr. William H. Lavender, II of El Paso, TX; his former wife Linda Tober of El Cajon, CA; and his brother Robert Wayne Lavender of Ridgecrest, CA.
