She was predeceased by: her parents, Irving Winters and Vaye Winters; her husband Harden James Jr.; and her son Bradley Compton. She is survived by: her siblings, Ronnie Dale, Bo, Mable Sue, Lou Ann, Bobby June and Linda Kaye; her sons, Alan Compton and Clint Compton; her daughter-in-law Cindy Compton; her grandchildren, Ashly Palomino, Amber Compton, Travis Compton, Brittney Pierce, Alicia Compton and Aden Compton; and her great grandchildren, Carson, Carly Palomino, Penelope Navarrete, Hannah Compton, Sadie Pierce, Cash Camacho, Cruz Jacobs, Naomie Jacobs, Aurora, Skylar and Atlas.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
