She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Emanuel Berndt and Lydia Berndt; her husband Merrill Hardison; and her daughters, Jean Gerdes (Philip) and Carol Alvernaz (Robert). She was also cherished by five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
