He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald C. Phinney and Catherine F. Phinney. He is survived by: his former wife Kathryn O. Phinney (Long); his wife Kathy; his sister Carol A. Johns (Ted); his nephews, Randall L. Johns (Denice) and Robb M. Johns (Edna); his cousins, Jim, Jean Harder, Barbara and Andy Rohrer; and his sister-in-law Rene Spineto. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other cherished family members.
Due to the current COVID pandemic a private service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in Don's name to Redondo Union High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, PO Box 368 Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
