She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Herbert Remstein; her children, Robert Remstein and Ellen Remstein McPhail; her daughter-in-law Rebecca; her granddaughter Eva; her son-in-law Ian; and her grandsons, Alex and Adam.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Irma's memory be made to Americans for the Arts.
