He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Woodward and Rose Woodward; his siblings, Charles, Donnie "Jack", Loetteda "Mae", Barbara, Hazel, Linda and Judy; and his children, Sue, Joe Jr. and Sherry.
He is survived by: his wife Caroline "Cat" Wilburn; his grandchildren, Jessica Buchanan (James), Jimie Jones, Princess Owens, Kevin Soza (Joseph), Christopher Woodward and Michael Owens; his great grandchildren, Kelly Rucker and Audrey Martinez; his siblings, William "Bill" Woodward and Charlotte Montgomery (Tom); his sister-in-law Sharon Adamson; and his friends, Terrill and Elaine O'Neal.
