Mitchell Fields Obituary

Mitchell Fields, 49, passed away at his home on April 19th, 2019 after living 19 months with glioblastoma.

Mitchell was born in Brooklyn on November 26th, 1969. He married his college sweetheart in 1997 after receiving a degree in Mathematics from Binghamton and a PhD in Physics from Yale. He began his career at MIT Lincoln Labs, followed by Sycamore. He worked at Broadcom (previously, Avago) as the Vice President and General Manager of the Fiber Optics Division until his death. In 2015, Mitchell and his family moved from Massachusetts to the Bay Area of California.

His family will miss his optimism and sense of humor. He will be remembered by many for his leadership skills and his love of the Beatles and pizza. His life continues to impact ours as we follow his example of curiosity and positivity.

He is survived by his wife Laura Fields, his children Jenna, Chloe, and Matthew Fields, his father Harvey Fields, his mother Doris Fields, his brother David Fields, and his other family and friends.
