She was predeceased by: her siblings, John, Andrew, Rebecca and Pearl Melendez. She is survived by: her children, Monica and Daniel; her son-in-law Jeffrey Patterson; her granddaughter Camille; her siblings, Rose Marie Espinoza, Mary Lou Liptrapp, Mary Ann Morales, Yolanda Chambers, Deborah Garcia, Cynthia Johnson, Janet, Irene Felipe, Joseph, Rudolph, Ronald and Timothy Felipe; her aunt Margarita Duncan; and her uncle John Felipe. She is also survived by cousins and friends.

Despite COVID-19 hospital restrictions, her children fulfilled their promise to be with her as her battle came to an end.
