He was predeceased by: his parents, Newman Nelson and Phyllis Nelson of Petaluma; and his sister Janet Clary. He is survived by: his children, Lori Grossi (Dino), Byron Nelson (Edie) and Lynn Voss; his grandchildren, Mario Grossi (Shannon), Christine Nunes (Sergio), Byron Nelson, Jr., Zachary Nelson (Lindsey), Shelby Nelson (Jordan), Mallory Nelson and Kayla Dufour; and his great grandchildren, Niko, Lucca, Ellie, Brooke and Kasey.
