He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother San Francisco; his former spouse Tripoli Remedia; his wife Alice Bien; his children, Gene A. "Gino", Linda and Cynthia (Terry); his grandchildren, Jennifer (Ron), Natalie (J. C.) and Andrea (Daniel); his great grandchildren, Ben, Lily and Andrew; his great-nephew King George; his niece Dale O'Conner; his sister Yolanda Long; his parents-in-law, Alfred and Dora Bien; and his brothers-in-law, Fred Bien (Gladys) and George Long (King George).

In lieu of flowers, the family prefer memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
