He is survived by: his children, Frank Mendes of Livingston and Bernice Baker (Jeff) of Hilmar; and his grandchildren, Awahanne Mendes, Randy Mendes, Robert Mendes, Megan Mendes and Melissa Martinez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
