He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Hooker and Anna Ruth Callahan Hooker; his son Joseph Scott Hooker of Vashon Island, WA; and his granddaughter Autumn Rose Hooker. He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Richelle; his children, Caryn Rutland of Nipomo, CA, Christy Berry of Simi Valley, CA, Robert J. Hooker of West Linn, OR and Brandy Hooker of Redding, CA; and his siblings, Sally Shaffer of Monticello, KY and Bill Hooker of Magalia, CA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
