He is survived by: his wife Angelita Leija; his children, Gilberto, Homero, Jesus, Jerry, Robert Leija and Consuelo Espinoza; and his brother Luis Leija. He is also survived by two grandchildren; sixty-four great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
