It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Effie Coons (Paradise, California), born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on May 24, 2018, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Sr.; her children, Shirley R. Tankesley and Robert Jr.; and her siblings, Edgar B. Black, Jr. and Betty J. Riggins.
She is survived by: her children, Carole A. Coons and Kenneth R. Coons (Barbara); her sister Dorothy A. Barnard (Ronald); her grandchildren, Robert (Shannon), Christopher, Justin (Anna) and Marissa; and her great grandchildren, Lauren, McKinna, Kathryn, Robert, Ava, Leah, Adam and Alex. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
