He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Antoinette Catherine and Joseph Barrett, Sr.; his brothers, Joseph Barrett, II, Michael Dalton, Paul Anthony and John Frances (Julie Campos); and his nieces and nephews, Ruby Nugent, Vincent Contreras, Sterling Contreras, Angela DeCunzo (Yolanda Roman), Elizabeth DeCunzo, Amanda Lynn Sullivan (Donovan), Kaitlyn DeCunzo and Joseph Barrett DeCunzo III.
