She is survived by: her husband David Dar; her granddaughter Emily Hwang; her son Paul Hwang, MD; her daughters-in-law, Kathy Hwang, MD and Annette Hwang, MD; her grandsons, Matthew, Andrew and Alex; and her son Sam T. Hwang, MD.

Over the past 5 years, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, eventually requiring memory care in February of 2021 in Sacramento.
