We are sad to announce that on September 25, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Maria Martinha Marta Carr of Palo Alto, California. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Maria Joaquina Maciel and Manuel Francisco Januario; and her sister Gorette Serpa. She is survived by: her husband Jimmie; her son Alan (Kim); her granddaughters, Camille and Paige; her siblings, Fernanda, Odette (Rick), Maciel (Andrelina), Isaias, Americo (Linda) and Joe (Sophia); her godmother Evarista; her brother-in-law Fernando Serpa (Margarida); her nieces and nephews, Pedro (Fatima), Henry (Sue), Paul (Becky), Mark (Julie), Joe (Cassie), Sofia (Fabio) and Stefanie; and also Mercedes Sanchez. She is also survived by her many cousins, extended family, and friends.
Due to continued COVID transmission concerns, the family is requesting that attendance at planned services be limited to only those who are directly contacted.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest instead a donation in Marta's name be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (https://www.michaeljfox.org) or a similar charity of your choice.
