She is survived by: her daughter Carol Cumming; her son-in-law Bruce Cumming; her grandson Sandy Cumming (Cindy Steele); her son-in-law Chuck Dorn; her grandson Niles Dorn; and her niece Beverly Bulkley Speak.
After living through the pandemic in Palo Alto, at 93 Kay moved to Reno, Nevada, to be close to her eldest daughter, Carol, recognizing in part that her vote might matter more there than in California.
