She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Blumenthal and Betty Blumenthal (Freedman); and her brother David Blumenthal. She is survived by: her husband David I. Caplan; her children, James H. Caplan (Heather) of Marblehead, MA, Deborah J. Machlin (Robert) of Los Altos, CA, Susan T. Ryan (John) of Edina, MN and Judith C. Crowley (Thomas) of Southborough, MA.; her grandchildren, Claire Caplan, Matthew Caplan, Jennifer Cecil (Jacob), Stephanie Foust (Benjamin), Michael Machlin, Sydney Ryan, Samuel Ryan, Rachel Crowley, Katherine Crowley and Nicole Crowley; and her siblings, Victor Blumenthal (Lee), Ann Parker and Dorothy Wiedis (Donald).
