He is survived by: his mother Vijaya Herekar of Santa Clara; his siblings, Alka Jayakar (Nandu) of Santa Clara and Satish Herekar (Ragini) of Palo Alto; his nephews, Abheer Jayakar and Rajeev Herekar; and his niece Anjali Herekar.
