We are sad to announce that on January 27, 2024, at the age of 73, Juan M. Cortez Sr. of Oxnard, California, born in Harlingen, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Erasmo Cortez, Sr. and Octavia Maria Cortez; his brothers, Patrocino, Antolino, Gabriel, Gustavo and Eliseo; and his brothers-in-law, Roberto "Bobby" Cisneros and David Bloom, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Marty Vaca; his children, John Jr. (Erica), Peter (Roxana), Erick and Naomi Perez; his grandchildren, Jaime, Andres, Emilio, John III, Daniel, Xiomara, Elicia, Desiree and Eunice; his siblings, Erasmo "Tony" Cortez (Yvette), Alex Cortez (Angie), Juanita Lopez (Jose), Lucy Cisneros (Bobby), Felis Rodriguez (David Bloom), Blanca "Blanche" Lopez (Tomas), Virginia "Virgie" Cortez, Gloria Lopez (Richard) and Graciela "Gracie" Cruz; and his nephews, Simon Aristegui, Jr. and Erasmo "Bo" Cortez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
