He was predeceased by: his parents, Billie Dean Turner and Harold Anderson Turner; his father-in-law Reverend James Chambers, Jr.; his brother-in-law James Chambers, III; and his grandson Traavoni Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his son David; his mother-in-law Dorothy Chambers; his siblings, Belynda Turner-Jones, Wylmarye Turner-Killingsworth (Steven), Jamie Boatright (Oksana) and Timothy Huffman (Sonya); and his children, Lenora Challenger, Jennifer Hales, KaShakka Valentine-Magdaleno, Patrick Southall (Trina) and Charles "Meechie" Thomas. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
